AAEA Re-Opens Scholarship Offerings for ACT Students – Apply Now Until Aug. 31

The AAEA/ACT Scholarship Program is a joint effort of AAEA and the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) and is funded through AAEA and its Professional Improvement Foundation.

Established by NACT in 1993 and adopted by AAEA in 2004, these scholarship awards (three will be given for $1,000 each) recognizes outstanding members of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) for their achievements in leadership, career-related experiences, academics and service. Although funded by AAEA and its Professional Improvement Foundation, the scholarships are available to any ACT member, regardless of specific communications career path.
Recipients are judged on the following criteria:
- ACT involvement, leadership activities and other campus organizational involvement
- Academic achievements
- Internships and career-related experiences
- Reference recommendations

AFA announces communications internship, NAFB scholarship

The Agriculture Future of America organization is looking for a summer intern. The position is primarily marketing comm related but also involves some donor relations, etc. A detailed position description and application is posted here.

Also, AFA has partnered with NAFB on a scholarship program. The scholarship is available to students interested in pursuing a broadcasting career of some kind. Click here for more information.

Yamaha Scholarship Applications Due Feb. 26

Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., is still accepting applications for its second annual scholarship program that provides financial assistance to ACT members. The scholarship deadline is Feb. 26.

The Yamaha-ACT Scholarship Program is broken out into two individual student scholarships and one chapter scholarship.  All three scholarships are aimed at helping students attend the annual Agricultural Media Summit (AMS), a professional development and networking opportunity for agricultural communications professionals in St. Paul, MN this July.
