E-Content Managing Editor Position Opening

Farm Progress Cos., the country’s agriculture information leader, is seeking candidates for a newly created full-time position to work out of its Urbandale (Des Moines), Ia. or St. Charles, Ill. office. 

 General responsibilities include formatting, editing, preparing and uploading local copy from state/regional magazine editors.   This person will also be responsible for developing projects/programs to optimize web browser search engine traffic to Farm Progress online content.  

Selected individual must be able to meet daily deadline schedules, communicate effectively, and embrace collaborating with off-site field editors and other staff to create an outstanding online experience for the agricultural community. 

The ideal candidate will have up to three years of related responsibilities, including a demonstrated ability to understand social media, HTML/web experience, web video editing/management, and experience with Microsoft Office products.  A background in search engine marketing is preferred.

United Sorghum Checkoff Program Announces Job Opportunity

The United Sorghum Checkoff Program (USCP) is hiring for the Communications Director Exempt position.

The USCP is the newly established national checkoff program for sorghum producers. The USCP is responsible for promotion, research and information programs for the U.S. sorghum industry. USCP has hired the National Sorghum Producers (NSP) as the management entity for the USCP.

POSITION: Communications Director Exempt position

REPORTS TO: Virgil Smail, Executive Director

HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours/week plus additional hours as needed

LOCATION: Lubbock, Texas

Position Summary

This position manages all aspects of Communications for the United Sorghum Checkoff Program. Responsibilities include managing the day to day operations; management of related projects and contracts; compliant operations; building of checkoff related messaging in all types of communications media (print, broadcast and electronic); special events; work with the volunteer board and committee(s); media relations; maintenance and oversight of related database(s). Some travel is required (30%).
