College Aggies Online  

The Animal Agriculture Alliance is gearing up for its annual College Aggies Online (CAO) scholarship program, kicking off September 9. The nine-week program provides a multitude of opportunities to gain real-world experience and build resume skills while competing for scholarships ($20,000 was awarded last year!).  CAO is open to undergraduate, graduate, pre-professional students, collegiate clubs, and classes interested in sharing positive, factual information online and in their campus communities about animal agriculture. Highlights from the 2023 program include:

  • Students sharing more than 1,380 posts about agriculture online
  • Clubs and classes reaching over 10,000 people in person through campus events
  • Confidence communicating about agriculture increasing from 6.55 to 9.0 on a 10-point scale

Animal Agriculture Alliance – deadline varies

The Animal Agriculture Alliance offer paid internship positions throughout the year (1 position in spring, 2 in summer, 1 in fall). All positions are full-time (40 hours/week) and can be conducted virtually or based in the Alliance’s office located in Arlington, VA near the Courthouse Metro Station.

Alliance interns assist with social media content production, research of key issues in animal agriculture, media monitoring, legislative tracking, developing reports and member resources and a variety of other projects along with supporting the Alliance team in executing projects like the annual Stakeholders Summit, College Aggies Online, trade show booths, marketing campaigns and more. Interns function as full-fledged members of the Alliance team and will be asked to contribute at a high level to help the organization achieve their mission of safeguarding the future of animal agriculture. Marketing & Communications Specialist – Kansas State University

This person is part of a dynamic team within the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry that is responsible for coordinating communications and marketing activities for recruitment, youth activities, extension, departmental communications and events and ASI personnel.

Ag Communications Intern – Texas Beef Checkoff

The Ag Communications Intern will assist in the development and execution of programs aimed at

communicating the role of the Beef Checkoff in Texas. This role primarily educates and engages Texas

producers through communication media and contributes to Industry Relations programming.

Coordinator, Programs – Texas Beef Checkoff

The Coordinator, Programs supports the Texas Beef Council’s (TBC) promotion, research, and education

foodservice, retail, administrative, and producer-facing staff members and supports the numerous

programs executed on behalf of our stakeholders and partners. This includes coordinating educational

initiatives and communicating with industry stakeholders, such as producers, retailers, and foodservice

operators.
