Membership

Annual membership dues are $25 undergraduate and graduate students as well as chapter advisers or other faculty members. 

How do you pay National ACT dues? Through your local chapter! Chapter advisers receive a QR code for a form they should use to create the chapter’s roster with names and contact information for new and returning members. To be active for an academic year, a chapter must start its roster no later than Oct. 1. Chapter can add members throughout the year up until May 15 (deadline line for National ACT Critique and Contest entries). Only active chapters have voting privileges at official national business meetings. 

At the first of each month, the executive treasurer will invoice the chapter for the dues of the members who names were added to the its roster during the previous month. Payment from those invoices must be received by the first of the following month. 

If students want to join National ACT but no chapter is chartered at their college or university, they can mail a dues payment of $25 per member to the National ACT executive treasurer:

Want to start a Creating a New Chapter?

An ACT chapter can affiliate with National ACT at any time during the academic year and will be an active chapter for the current academic year by paying dues within 45 days of approval. 

To charter a chapter, send PDF files of (1) a letter requesting affiliation with the national organization, (2) a proposed local constitution and (3) any bylaws to the National ACT executive team for review. Chapters can use the National ACT governing documents as a possible guide. Email the documents to Dr. Shelly Legg, interim executive adviser and executive treasurer, at nact.treasurer@gmail.com.
