ACN – ACT Student Contest
The new ACN-ACT Student Contest is now open for entries. This contest will award students funds to support their attendance at Ag Media Summit, which will be held Aug. 3-6, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. AMS is the largest annual conference of agricultural communicators in the United States and provides opportunities for networking and professional development through workshops and speakers from industry professionals. You’ll be able to attend events alongside ag comm professionals as well as participate in the annual National ACT meetings and student workshops. AMS is a foundational opportunity for students preparing to launch their careers.
Students (individuals or teams of up to four) will develop a research-based marketing plan that includes a minimum of three creative assets. Entrants must be ACT members, but a student without an active ACT chapter at their school may become an individual ACT member at any time by contacting nact.treasurer@
Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. April 15, 2024.
National Association of Farm Broadcasters Foundation Scholarship
Since 1977, the NAFB Foundation has provided financial support and educational opportunities in the form of college scholarships to assist students in pursuing careers in agricultural communications. More than $608,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
In 2024, the NAFB Foundation is offering multiple $7,500 college scholarships and one $10,000 scholarship. This year’s recipients will be recognized at the NAFB Convention this November in Kansas City, and each receives an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award.

Agricultural Communicators Network announces two scholarship opportunities – Due Apr. 15, 2023
The Agricultural Communicators Network is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for two scholarship opportunities for 2023.
Two scholarships will be awarded in 2024 to outstanding members of ACT for their achievements in leadership, career-related experiences, academics, and service.
The Dr. James Evans Scholarship is the top scholarship offered in the amount of $3,000. To be eligible for this scholarship, the two top applicants will be required to take part in an in-person interview during the Ag Media Summit. The two finalists will each receive a $1,000 travel stipend to attend the Summit, which will be held in Kansas City, MO., Aug. 4- Aug. 7. The second-place finalist will be awarded the Past Presidents’ Scholarship of $1,500.
Applicants must be current members of ACT and enrolled as an undergraduate student at a university or college during the time of their application. Recipients will be selected based on the following:
- ACT involvement, leadership activities, and other campus organizational involvement
- Academic achievements
- Career-related experiences
- Reference recommendations
Applications are due on or before Monday, April 15, 2024.

Agricultural Relations Council awards one, $1500 scholarship for college students studying ag communications and public relations.
