Student and Associate Membership

Dues are $17 per member (undergraduate and graduate students), $18 per associate member (faculty members in agricultural communications or related programs, including chapter advisers).  All dues for the fall must be submitted by October 31. Chapters that submit their membership roster by October 31 and are in the process of paying their dues during the fall semester will have voting privileges at official business meetings. Chapters that have not submitted rosters and payment information by the October 31 deadline will not be given voting privileges at official business meetings. New members can pay dues and be added to chapter rosters anytime throughout the academic year. Individual member dues are considered rolling throughout the entire year.

If you do not belong to a chapter, you can join the National ACT by paying your student dues via check.

Steps for Chapter Membership

We are continuing to use a new system for uploading your roster file in 2024-2025!:

  1. You will download and complete the 2024-2025 National ACT membership roster (in Excel) if you are paying for a chapter.
    • If you submit a PDF or other file format, the National ACT Secretary/Treasurer will contact you to request an Excel format so that we can update our database more easily. Please include the email addresses of students and adviser(s) so that we can send the monthly National ACT newsletter.
  2. Then, you will upload your completed chapter membership roster to our Google Form. It will be linked here.
  3. Pay you dues via check by mailing your completed check to Dr. Jeff Miller at the University of Arkansas.

Mailing a Check

You write a check to “National ACT”. If you are a student paying your membership with a personal check, write your chapter/university name in the memo line. Mail the check to Dr. Miller:

Creating a New Chapter

To establish a chapter, a letter requesting affiliation with the national organization and a copy of the proposed local constitution and any by-laws must be submitted to the adviser for review by the national executive committee. Email Ms. Taylor Kennedy faculty adviser, at nact.adviser@gmail.com.
